Justin began his cooking career with the Sheraton Hotel Group, however his passion for cooking started in the kitchen of his childhood home in South Africa, cooking for family. It was once he migrated to Australia in the early nineties that he decided to turn his love of cooking into a career.
Over the years he has spent time in Melbourne gaining invaluable knowledge and experience in establishments such as est est est and Gust, it was the meeting of Christine and Perth’s relaxed, unassuming lifestyle that not only drew him back but influenced his approach to cooking and dining.
In recent years Justin has made a big impact on Perth’s dining scene as head chef of Duende, Il Lido and Verve. West End deli is Justin’s first venture with wife Christine and its aim, is to epitomise how we as a city continually evolve but never forget how to relax and have fun!
